Stamford Resident Charged with Shooting Police Officer in the Face

Stamford Police officer, Richard Gasparino suffered a single gunshot wound to the face during a drug raid at a residence, in the Cove section of Stamford. Ephraim Goitom, 27, of Lockwood Avenue was charged with shooting the officer.

Word on the streets: is that Goitom's residence was being "raided" by the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit for obvious reasons.  'They' say that the unit approached the door and clearly stated who they were and why they were there... As they proceeded to take down the door, Goitom opened fire; shooting Officer Gasparino in the face, through the door.

As of now we won't know the REAL story, probably never will. But I, personally, think it's an awful situation for both parties involved: being shot in the face can possibly cause long term issues that he may have to deal with for the rest of his life.  But hey, he is in officer and in the line of duty; I guess that's what he signed up for.  Speaking of long term, Goitom will have a lot of time to think of the choices he made last night. I really wish young black men wouldn't make such decisions: to live this life they see on t.v. and in the movies... It's really tragic to see a young life being taken like this. I wish them the best of luck. Stay up brotha!
