Where Did Wiz Khalifa Come From?

Cameron Jibril Thomaz, better known as his stage name 'Wiz Khalifa' was born on September 8th, 1987 in Minot, North Dakota. Later, he was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to a mother and a father serving in the military. Due to their service in the military, it caused them to move a lot. He's lived in Japan, Germany and England before settling in Pennsylvania.

His stage name, "Khalifa", was derived from the Arabic word meaning "successor" and wisdom; which was shortened to "Wiz" when he was fifteen.

It seem like Wiz just dropped on the scene with his new track "Black and Yellow", but he's been around for awhile. Since 2006, to be exact...

Wiz signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2006, where he released his debut album Show and Prove. He parted with the Warner Bros. and released his second album Deal or No Deal in November 2009. Soon he released a mixtape Kush and Orange Juice, he then signed with Atlantic Records.

Now, being all the "buzz"; Wiz has brought to us great music and his love for Chuck Taylor All-Stars, hence the name of his fanbase: the "Taylor Gang".

I, personally, enjoy his contribution to the music world and hope to see what this amazing lyricist comes up with next. Good luck Wiz! :-)
